Memorial Day Weekend

It is Sunday, May 24, 2009, and it is the Memorial Day weekend. Around New England, that seems to mean "get ready for summer". Even though it hasn't been hot, people think about opening their pools. They get as early a start on Friday for a trip to Cape Cod so they can get their cottage ready.

Kids have been wearing shorts for a while, now. They don't even seem to check if the weather is going to be warm on a given day. Some adults have joined their quest for summer, too. Sandals ar all the rage.

There have been a couple of warm days this past week, but it is back to the fifties this morning. Nonetheless, I bet, in spite of the temperature, the rain showers (by the way, our furnace just kicked on), today's dress code will skew toward mid summer.
